In Voluntary Aided schools and academies, the Governing or Trust Board is the Admissions Authority and must ensure that they ‘determine’ admission arrangements before the 28th February annually. Due to the way that admissions work they need to be working two years in advance eg determining admission arrangements for the academic year 2025/26 in the academic year 2023/24. Admission authorities that are church schools are required to follow the guidance published by their DBE in addition to the current admissions code. Our guidance is regularly updated based on both the current code and determinations by the Schools Adjudicator so it is important to look at the guidance each year before determining admission arrangements
